Couric Prepped for Palin Interview by Consulting With Obama's Informal Chief Adviser.....
I'm shocked, OK, maybe not. Note: Sam Nunn via Wikipedia- There was speculation that he could have been the running mate of Democratic candidate Barack Obama in 2008. Nunn currently serving as an informal chief advisor to President-elect Obama in a transition of State and Defense Departments[2].
....Couric shed some light on her preparation for the interviews: Beforehand, she sought advice from former senator Sam Nunn and Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas. They told her to draw Palin out on her geopolitical worldview and urged her to let the governor speak at length without interrupting her. Maybe she should bring them along with her when she takes over at Meet the Press?
Update: Hmmmm, Conde Naste pulled the above article, here's another link from MediaMemo that references the original.....

Looks like the fix was in. Shame on you Katie.

Katie, let's ask YOU some questions.
Here's one: Have YOU ever governed a state?

That interview was a fucking joke, the question about rape and abortion stands out as one of the lowest points in the campaign.

Hey Couric when your husband lay dying who took care of him and the kids while you pushed forward on with your lame career?
Bad mother and wife you were

Is Katie Couric "guilty" of asking Palin simple questions that Palin couldn't competently answer? Yes. Thank God. Is Palin guilty of having ignorantly accepted McCain's unwise nomination for a post that she isn't competent to hold? Yes. Shame on her, and on John McCain for that. Would you who frequent this site have willingly handed our government over to such a pair of reckless incompetents? It seems that the answer again is, yes. Three strikes and you're OUT! /s/ A Proud Ex-Catholic Obama supporter

Is anyone surprised at this information? Jealousy of Sarah Palin really showed in Couric's interview. Not all the beauty and spa treatments for Katie could have helped Couric stand up to the true beauty of Sarah. Anyone with a lick of sense knew from the beginning Couric was out to deprive Sarah any kuddos. After all, "The One" just mustn't be overshadowed.

Couric's an idiot for letting this slip!
Posted by: Jigger | November 12, 2008 at 09:19 PM
Our family was priviledged to see Sarah in a "non-hostile" interview with Greta (Fox). Sarah is lovely, refreshing and has won the hearts of millions of Americans. How many Americans love Katie Couric as opposed to Sarah Palin? Now that's an interesting question and most likely one CBS doesn't want the answer to. Shame on Nunn, et al. (But for Democrats, not surprising at all).

The homebreaker slut Couric has almost no audience anyway.
Posted by: mark | November 12, 2008 at 09:23 PM
To Ex Catholic.... is Palin more qualified than Obama, Yes. Did the Katie ask Obama and tough questions, No.
Enough said.

Anybody taken in by Katie Couric's "cute and non-threatening" routine could only be a very young man with no experience of Black Widows; I doubt many mature women have ever been taken in by her, either.
Governor Palin has conducted herself throughout with class and a great martial joy. And I would imagine that most Catholics would be pleased that 0 supporters are no longer part of the Church.

To proud Ex-Catholic and Obama Supporter: At least you left the Church and supported "Your Messiah" so I can't call you a hypocrite. But for my clarification, after you kick-off, so-to-speak, does "The One" have a place, sorta like Heaven to us Christians, that you will descend to and will their be virgins? Just wondering?

Katie, put on some more mascara.

The Couric interview was an ambush and damn good one

Strange the link has disappeared down the memory hole.
Figures that Couric would need cribbing notes. Of course copying from the Obama campaign workers. Journalism is dead in the US. Killed by the cheats.

Seems they've pulled the article.

Whoa there, Elshadi! Obama is not my "Messiah", for Christ's sake; he was a candidate for a secular office, in our multicultural nation, whose qualifications AND character are clearly superior those of the other candidates. I don't need to convince myself that my candidate is "annointed" because t h i s__c o u n t r y__i s__n o t__a__t h e o c r a c y! Don't you folks go to school? Don't you read? Don't you THINK? It's a voting booth, not a confessional: a government of the people, by the people and for the PEOPLE. Tell me quick, now: in what year and for what reason was the phrase "under God" added to the Pledge of Allegiance? For extra credit, how many times does the word "God" appear in the Constitution of the United States?

Katie a shill for the Demorat Party? She always has been.

Thanks Dan, I have another link that I'll post which references the original. Seems kind of shady that Conde Naste would pull it.....

My 83 year old mother, who has 4 daughters, so believed in giving women a chance she was one of the 12 people who watched Couric nightly. Katie is now down to 11 people in her audience. Paybacks are a bitch.

You all are having some trouble, I see, answering a couple of pretty simple questions. Let's call that the "Palin Effect" (Just a joke there. Don't crucify me.) It points up a real problem though. In a democracy all citizens have an obligation to each other and to their country, to educate ourselves and to keep informed on those issues that may attend the execution of OUR office, the most important office in a democracy: that of voter. Biology, physical science, mathematics . . . and history. You all need to crack the books, and I don't mean the Good Book. You're not finding valid answers in there. Good night, all

A lot of really good things Sarah Palin has been doing as Governor, and before that as Chairman of the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission were hidden from the public by a hostile press. Since she is going to be around for years to come the people will start to find out the truth. Shame on the press for not doing their job
Posted by: grubbsi | November 12, 2008 at 10:19 PM
Seems like the godless fear Palin. Why is that? Her governance was conservative with a dash of libertarian. She was never ever the right winger our new messiah's minions claimed her to be. If you chose to believe the lies about her you've obviously never read the Good Book, though even the godless don't approve of bearing false witness. Do they?
Seems like you intellectuals should be reading a history book. Where exactly is the great Socialist paradise? What was the highpoint of government controlling the means of production? And finally where is the utopian atheist heaven at on earth?
Good luck American...You've gotten exactly what you deserve.

The only thing Sarah Palin is guilty of is being inexperienced in giving interviews and not being a news junkie. I don't think it dawned on Katie that by trying to make Sarah look bad that she made herself look worse. Katie would have totally elevated herself in the eyes of viewers if she had shown some compassion and turned the interview into a success versus allowing it to go down a slippery slope.

Tim,
Which questions would those be? The media did such a banner job vetting Obama that even in the tank "journalists" have had to admit that we really know nothing about him. We have no idea how he will govern because he never governed. We have no idea why he ran as a centrist when his voting record makes him the most liberal Senator. What questions did the masses of "enlightened" people such as yourself ask and answer before you cast your vote for the least experienced man ever to be elected president.
