Islamic School in Indonesia Accepts Muslim Transvestites.....

This is about as tolerant as it gets in the Islamic faith.....

YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia (Reuters Life)- Wearing headscarves and reciting the Koran, students at an Indonesian Islamic school look like ordinary women practicing their faith in the holy month of Ramadan, but they are actually transvestites.

Breaking with the norm in the world's most populous Muslim nation, Mujahadah al-Fatah provides a special program for Muslim transvestites during Ramadan, the holiest month of the Islamic calendar when religious fervor intensifies.

Teachers said the program was aimed at helping the transvestites learn more about their faith, with the hope that they would start living like ordinary men.

"We call them to return to what Allah taught us, and pray to Allah to help them solve the problems they are facing,"said Andi Yusuf, one of boarding school teachers.

Almost all Muslim women can read and write Arabic. And when at one time many non-Arabs did not understand the language, today many choose to learn understanding Arabic. Islam was the first world movement to liberate women. Islam's respect to protect the dignity of the woman, and not abuse her as an object of sex is a direct challenge to the use of women's sexuality commercially. And all of us so brainwashed by commercial media that we do not understand the cry for dignity and respect that our mothers, sisters, and friends ask for. Evolution has made them a physically weaker sex that uses its sexuality to advantage. But man should rise above this and give them the respect they deserve. A womans freedom should not be confused with a womans innate fear of the male and the subjugation of her sexuality. In that sense, God, through Islam, spells out their rights perfectly. If some Muslim people, through their ethnic culture, differ, do not blame Islam and God for it.
