Dubai, Sep 16 (IANS) -A leading global consumer electronics major Tuesday launched what it claims to be the world’s only television with the holy Quran built in.
LG Electronics unveiled the new plasma series TV with the built-in Quran in Saudi Arabia Tuesday to mark the ongoing Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
The TV allows viewers to read the Quran, search and bookmark passages and listen.
According to the statement, the in-built Quran incorporated into LG’s new plasma TV includes all the 114 suras or versesand users can search for specific suras and bookmark up to 10 favourites.
At the top of the screen is a status bar that displays the name of the sura, verse numbers and the time of day. The TV also allows viewers to listen to the Quran.

The koran is not to be translated from Arabic, per recent fatwa. This includes 1's & 0's when it is digitally stored in the TV's firmware.
