I wonder if they would like it if we interrupted their speeches.

Now there is a novel idea...I don't think it has been done..If I were to do it , I would notifiy the press ahead of time to outline my planned protest to insure the press cameras would be present...I would probably get arrested but not before I threw some tomatoes..

Its crazy. Their definition of free speech is to disrupt others free speech. Also ironic that they love to sling the "fascist" word around when fascism is rooted in the left.

These loonies have no respect for America nor freedoms they inherited which was paid for with the blood of many brave lads.
I wonder if their parents are proud of these social misfits. They should be arrested every time they cause trouble and jailed for 6 months at a time...After about 6 arrests, they might get a clue..or they might not..

Hugh must be proud of these liberal women.

In the spirit of colonial America, why doesn't someone tar and feather these people. It's about time someone taught them to respect our social order. In the past, people didn't let the village idiot dictate policy or insult authority figures without consequence. Since there are no consequences for their behavior, even socially, Code Pink hasn't learned the difference between having an opinion and enforcing their opinion. I will never understand why we tolerate these people antics.

An equivalent situation would be: You’re at a baseball game with your child and there are some drunks behind you that are swearing and being rude. If you tell the drunks to please stop swearing or being rude, this doesn't violate their First Amendment rights. The First Amendment says: "Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech....” But since we're not members of Congress, how does telling someone to shut up violate their freedom of speech?

I love the irony.

"To my fellow citizens, we believe in free speech in the United States of America."

...By the time Bush finished his 10-minute remarks, at least nine protesters had been escorted out of the event by law enforcement.

LOL!!!

So Elric, you want to tar and feather anti-abortion protesters I assume?

Wow Hugh, instead of saying that what these women are doing is wrong, you jump in and demand I answer questions.

But I can guess that since you avoid condemning their shameful behavior that you agree with the liberal mantra that using free speech to interrupt free speech of conservatives is wonderful.

"...By the time Bush finished his 10-minute remarks, at least nine protesters had been escorted out of the event by law enforcement."

Thats because they were screaming and interrupting his speech. I guess manners isnt a liberal value.

Elric,

Sorry you think standing up to your government is "wrong". Again, I posit Iran might be the perfect place for you.

Screaming and calling people names as they are giving a speech isnt "standing up to government" its just plain rude. But then, libs have no sense of manners.

So Hugh. How do you FEEEEEL about all this free speech stuff? Come on, son. Let it ALL hang out.

Point being Elric, Bush can't have it both ways. He can't brag that America affords these folks free speech then have them arrested.

For the record, I find Code Pink to be annoying and counterproductive. But I'm glad there are still people in America willing to go to jail for their beliefs.

There is a difference between Freedom of Speech and Disturbance of the Peace.
Mr McCain was guilty of exercising the rights of Freedom of speech, the Pink wackos were guilty of disturbing the peace at minimum, probably disorderly conduct, and the left wing tactics they use when they are unable to conduct their own ralleys to exercise their Freedom of speech rights, ...the Pinko whackos just prefer to create a public display of ignorance and hate. The only difference betweeen the Pinko whackos and the Muslim terrorists is that the terrorists use guns and explosives..they both share the same level of hate. There goals are the same..to dominate the opponent and not allow him to speak...Banning freedom of speech is a Prime Muslim objective.
These Pinko whackos have the right to hold their own rallies to dispense their opinons ...the only problem is no one would show up and they cannot stand that, therefore, they choose to show up at someone elses rally and cause trouble.

"Disturbance of the Peace
This entry contains information applicable to United States law only.
An offense constituting a malicious and willful intrusion upon the peace and quiet of a community or neighborhood.

The crime is usually committed by an offensive or tumultuous act, such as the making of loud or unusual noises, or quarreling in public."

The term is similar in meaning to breach of the peace; however, the latter is generally a broader term, encompassing all violations of public peace and order. It can also be a form of disorderly conduct and is similarly punishable upon conviction by a fine, imprisonment, or both.

Pulsar,

Hugh doesnt know the difference. No one said that Code Pink cant have their own little rally. By his arguement, any student can just stand up in class and scream at his teacher. Can't send him to the principle office, its "freedom of speech". Freedom of speech isnt freedom to disrupt.

HA! somewhere he said "I am a liberal".

I will bet he is just like my former landlord who had been thrown out of political rallies held by Joe Lieberman (my former landlord ardently supported a vehment and foul mouthed Bush hating liberal names Ned Lamont)..I laughed when I saw that on TV. My former landlord has been forceably ejected for causing Pink like disturbances at Republican rallies...He has said he is waiting for McCain to show up so he can throw tomatoes...My former landlord idolizes those Whacko truthers and believes Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosie are the Dynamic Duo...He worships John Kerry and John Dean, heck, he even likes Charles Rangel...He believes Obamas Church is a legitimate Christian Church and dosen't understand what all this hoopla about the Rev Wright and Rev Moses is all about..I believe he gets giddy when he hears "God Damn America"...

These Liberals...they are all alike..

Bush isn't a teacher. He's the President of the United States. If we followed your logic, we'd still be under British rule.

Once again, Bush can't have it both ways. Either he tells the audience if you disrupt a President while he's speaking you go to jail, or he brags about the fact Americans are allowed to protest against the President. It can't be both.

When I hear Conservatives argue anti-abortion protesters should go to jail for being obnoxious, I'll listen to this hypocrisy.

Hey Pulsar, do you have a brain of your own, or are you more comfortable cutting and pasting Sean Hannity's propganda?

In other words, why do you hate this wonderful country? And how long after Obama is elected to you plan to stay and attack it?

Its the same thing, interrupting a speaker isnt free speech.

"Why is George Bush having to spend so much time defending a speech promoting freedom? It's amazing. Freedom is so unpopular around the world that you can't even stand up and deliver a speech extolling it's values and virtues without taking criticism from all corners. Such is the popularity of government- provided security. But, as I said, I just can't let it go. I grew up being told and actually believing that people love freedom. The biggest disappointment of my adult life may be the realization that this whole "love of freedom" thing is a complete lie. For the most part people seem to love freedom right up until that point where the old responsibility thing kicks in.

As for George Bush, during his speech he said that "It is the policy of the United States to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and culture, with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in the world." Well, may I be so bold as to offer a suggestion on how to do that? Start building a new international coalition of nations to eventually replace the United Nations. Call it the "Freedom Alliance" or something like that. Membership will be open to any nation who's leaders are chosen in free and open elections, and with a government structure that guarantees a rule of law and economic liberty for its citizens. Let the United Nations be the gathering place of petty tyrants. We need something better. Now's as good a time to start as any.

He is a piece of work, isnt he Pulsar?

I like that Freedom Alliance idea. I never understood how a country that oppresses its people gets a vote in the UN. But then I can see why libs love it.

you can tell this Hugh character must be a liberal moonbat, he cannot tell the difference between free speech and civil disobedience..

He probably thinks not being allowed to scream "bomb" at an airport for kicks is a violation of free speech as well.

the above entry was me...btw. I believe the liberal moonbats have hot flashes just thinking about the day when America no longer exists as a free country..

Elric,,that is one of the big problems with the UN..they let allow all these thug nations participate...and even some of the big boys have lost sight of what freedom means...The UN has become a farce.
