Baquba, 7 July (AKI) - A woman suicide bomber on Monday detonated her explosives vest in a market in the central Iraqi city of Baquba killing and wounding dozens, the Voices of Iraq news agency reported, citing police.

The casualties were reported to include women and children.

Baquba is the capital of volatile Diyala province, which extends to the northeast of Baghdad as far as the Iranian border.

Eleven of the 20 suicide bombings in Diyala this year have been carried out by women, Voices of Iraq said, quoting a report in the New York Times on Saturday.
