A Clayton County man faces murder charges in the strangling death of his 25-year-old daughter early Sunday over her desire to end an arranged marriage.
Chaudhry Rashad, 54, apparently got mad during an argument in which the victim, Sandela Kanwal, told him she wanted out of the marriage, Clayton police officer Timothy Owens said.
Authorities were called to their Utah Drive home in Jonesboro just after 3 a.m. Sunday. Kanwal lived with her father when she was not with her husband, who is in Chicago, Owens said. She hadn't seen the husband in three months, he said.
Both Rashad and Kanwal are of Pakistani descent.
Rashad had a seizure shortly after the strangling and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Owens said. He was in custody Sunday at the Clayton County jail and could make an initial court appearance Monday.

Honor killing is not the proper name for this.
There is no honor in it.
It is very important when dealing with issues to put them in proper context.
"Extreme insecurity about how pathetic you really are murder" would be a more accurate headline.

People...anyone here listen to radio talk show master Neal Boortz? Tune into his show tomorrow (Monday) or the next day (Tuesday). This case won't slip off his radar in great part because it took place somehwere in GA. Boortz works out of downtown Atlanta, GA. Boortz is NOT a defender of the islamic customs brought to this country by muslim immigrants. Boortz does not subscribe to multi-culti BS. Mr. Boortz has zero tolernce for islamic victimhood.

Rashad FAKED a seizure upon arrest, so I suspect. Easliy enough done in the USA. Even as we speak (write to one another) Rashad is surrounded by muslim buddies in his hospital room ( a room sans crucifix mind you). Rashad will be given an alibi by one of his muzz buds or all of his buds will tesitfy that he had been actin' CRAZY for weeks before he strangled his daughter. Follow the case. You'll see. Mark my words.
Zip's wife might know the answer to this: how many people get the death penalty in the USA (or GA) when they "ONLY" kill one person at a time? Not many I think. Life, yes. Death? No. Perhaps it's time to augment the laws of capital punishment to strictly provide for the death "honor killings"?

There were two teenage girls from Dallas who were shot by their taxi cab driver father, who then disappeared (left the country, everyone presumes) for his home in Pakistan. No one has been arrested or convicted. The girls are still dead. He killed them because they wanted to wear Western dress and listen to music like their friends.
I'm sure there are others.

If Britain is an example, then Sharia Murders have been going on ever since Moslems in a significant number have been here: follow the "logical" progression: if you allow polygamy, you already accept abuse of women and denigration of marriage; from that follows female genital mutilation (it isn't 'circumcision', resist that PC wording) to control the 'urges' of the females, aided by Koran 4:34 which mandates for wife-beating, thus guaranteeing masses of domestic abuse; consanguinity, forced marriages, child brides. Murder is totally predictable but we are the really crazy ones if we don't demand Proscription of the ideology because all of these actions proceed from and are supported in the Koran, the supporting ahadith and the Sira (life of Muhammad). We'll never end this inhumane treatment by labelling it 'cultural problems' while ignoring the perverted view of humanity in Islam's core doctrines and 'perfect man.'

There have been more than three others. In 2008 alone there were three (a husband, his wife, and their child) in suburban Chicago, two (sisters) in suburban Dallas, and now two separate cases in Georgia, an older one that is being tried this year and now this one that has just been committed. These are just the ones we know about.

I asked the wife, she said it's determined by the nature of the killing. By their nature, multiple killings lead to more gruesome crimes. When it comes to "honor" killings, they could easily be considered for the death penalty.

Hi.I am a great-aunt to Amina and Sarah Said.These two girls were shot to death in Irving Texas by their muslim father in Janurary because they "disgraced" the family name.Amina refused the arranged marriage her father was demanding.He found out both girls had non-muslim boyfriends.That's all it took!
