Denmark: Muslim Groups Will Appeal Mohammed Cartoon Lawsuit to EU Human Rights Court if Supreme Court Rejects Case......

Seven Danish Muslim associations were planning to appeal to Denmark's highest court over the publication of 12 cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that sparked violent protests in 2006, reports said on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the Islamic Society told Danish media that a lawyer was working on the appeal to the Supreme Court.

Earlier, a Danish district court and an appeal court had turned down cases filed against the former managing editor and cultural editor of the Jyllands-Posten newspaper, which published the cartoons in September 2005.

The Muslim associations maintain that Muslims were slandered when the prophet was depicted as a terrorist and war-monger, but both Danish courts ruled that the publication was not slander.

Islamic Society spokesperson Bilal Assaad said the groups were prepared to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights, should the Supreme Court not support their case, news agency Ritzau said.

IFL, I was just thinking of something along those lines. If it goes to the European Court of "Human Rights", the Muslims will win, and the Danes will pull out of the EU. This will have a domino effect, as Britain is sure to follow, and perhaps the Irish. While the EU forges Eastward, a spate of post-EU countries may emerge in the West.

It is an act of KUFR and takes a person outside of Islam to address ANY non-Muslim with RELIGIOUSLY honorific titles. Theres no two opinions on this, doesnt matter if you're a Sunni, Sufi or Salafi or Shia. I'm not a mufti/qadhi and not placing a cyber-fatwa on anyone but there is no appeasing falsehood- especially on matters of Iman and kufr.

Its not about respect. We can and do respect individuals, but not the titles and institutions of authority of what we believe to be falsehood.
How exactly is the Pope "His Holiness" for us Muslims? Besides, he has mocked Islam too. As far as Islam is concerned, there is NOTHING "holy" about the Pope for us.

We acknowledge him as a religious authority for his people and his status amongst them and call him Pope, the worldly title describing him, but we SIMPLY CAN'T declare him as a "holiness". Even if such words are incorporated into their names/titles, we HAVE TO shave off the honorific bits like "His Holiness" or "God bless him" or "the lionheart" or anything else.

The lowest Muslim is more deserving of this title for us than him, a man who has openly expressed hostility to Islam.
