UK: Muslims Reluctant to Join Police Because of Islamophobia.....

I fail to see how this is a bad thing.....

Britain is trying to lure Muslims into joining it’s police forces, despite evidence that previous attempts have not worked out well for either recruits or law enforcement.

Many in the country’s burgeoning Muslim community remain deeply suspicious of the police and claim that Islamophobia has become institutionalised in many of the country’s 52 forces.

Those who do join have complained of prejudice and of encountering a “glass ceiling” when it comes to promotion. Others have faced intimidation or being ostracised by their own communities.

The country’s largest police force has found that Muslim officers are more likely to be pressured into inaction or even committing criminal acts because of close family or community bonds.
