Saudi Blogger Produces "Schism," the Muslim Response to Fitna Depicting the Bible as Violent and Promoting Extremism....

Of course the Bible has violent passages, but it is in no way shape or form as violent as the Koran. Nor is it used to murder, maim and oppress people on a daily basis. Allah's manual for death and destruction is the inspiration behind countless crimes every day, the Bible is an inspiration for peace....

JEDDAH, 10 April 2008 — A Saudi blogger has made a six-minute video entitled "Schism" by portraying texts from Christian sources out of context, similar to the way Dutch MP Geert Wilders made his recently-released anti-Qur'an film entitled "Fitna."

In his film, Raid Al-Saeed, 33, shows verses of the Bible that call for war and illustrated them with clips of extremist Christian groups that preach violence.

"I made it in less than 24 hours. In 'Schism,' I have used the same methodology that Wilders has used and that involves taking texts out of context," he told Arab News, adding that he made the film to prove that it is incorrect to judge Islam by watching "Fitna."

This is a point that he writes at the end of his short film. "It is easy to take part of any holy book out of context and make it sound like an inhumane book. This is what Geert Wilders did to gather supporters for his hateful ideology. To create 'Schism,'" he wrote.

Al-Saeed does not believe religious books call for violence and bloodshed. He said "Fitna" is "based on hate" and that Wilders has abused the "freedom of expression that he enjoys." He added that Wilders' movie reflects "his racism and hatred."

Islam isnt a race Chuckles.

BTW How did he get a Bible to reference? Bibles are illegal in Suadi.Ironic he does about freedom of expression living in the apartheid state of Saudi Arabia.

"His video has been viewed over 1,800 times and has been on YouTube since March 2. It is also available for viewing on Google."

Hmmmm...its a response to a film that wasnt released at the time he released his film? Hmmmm......

Good point Elric, a Bible will get you locked up in Saudi Arabia

Saw this in the paper the other day, WZ, and thought for sure you already knew about it - since the guy released it on March 2nd. Hmmm... 1,800 views compared to Fitna's 180,000 views?

Having read the Bible a few times the claim that the Bible promotes, or contains violent passages, and so somehow negates the violence within the Koran and the Hadith is completely bogus.

Yes, there is violence in the Bible. Much of the Bible is a historical account of the nation of Israel. There were wars against other nations, and commands by God to do away with a particular enemy such as the Amalekites. But NOTE that the command of God was always against a certain people during a certain time. The orders were to be carried out, and finished. The Scriptures also say there is a time for war and a time for peace.

There is NO standing orders to destroy ANY particular people during ALL times like... oh, say like you might find in the Koran or Hadith.

You really have to be a master at Scripture twisting to make the claim that the New Testament preaches violence. A simple reading of a passage in it's context should put away such thoughts even to a third grader.

The claim is bogus, but what should one expect from those who follow a homicidal, child molester?

The "beauty" of the Koran is that it's so open ended- its principles can (and by their reckoning MUST) be applied to all people in all places for all time. The Bible on the other hand has stories of violence that apply only to the place and time those stories are set in. This "minor" fact is ALWAYS overlooked by Islamaniacs and their lapdog apologists. Funny how that works, isn't it?

Its over "overlooked" you dont have Christians around the world head chopping, blowing up, planting bombs, demanding the deaths of cartoonists etc all in the name of Jesus and/or the Bible. Oh wait, Christians had Timothy McVeigh so its all the same. McVeigh = 100 Gazillion jihadists. Nevermind.

That's it? That's not much of a response.

First, when he says 'Bible' he means the Old Testament, not the New Testament. Second, Wilders didn't 'cherry-pick' the passages from the Koran which he displayed onscreen in 'Fitna': although he didn't use the actual Sword Verse (9.5), he used those from Sura 8 ("Booty") which, along with Sura 9, take precedence by the Doctrine of Naskh (Abrogation) over more than 120 other verses in the Koran and which, because these two Suras deal with the treatment of non-Moslems by Moslems, are meant as primary and eternal mandates. The idiot doesn't know Islam, let alone Judaism or Christianity.

I disgree, he knows Islam, he is just practicing taqiyya. Again, I want to know how he got access to a Bible.

For what it is worth, a Norwegian heathen did two books "Jehova's little brown book" and "Allah's little brown book", with excerpts people would rather sweep under the rug. And Allah's was much thinner than Jehova's. There is a no standing order to attack or kill people in the Quran either, there are in fact really strict rules of engagement that must be obeyed. Osama bin Laden has been criticized strongly in the muslim world for having ignored them.

Another point is that while christians may not randomly blow up people with home-made bombs, it is hard to argue that it does matter, as long as Bush used the word "crusade" about his war, and kill people with cruise missiles. If you're dead, I don't think it matters all that much.

I think that this video was a very relevant commentary, and I think both videos should be considered protected speech.

"Osama bin Laden has been criticized strongly in the muslim world for having ignored them"

LOL

"and I think both videos should be considered protected speech."

SO do I but you wont find Christians threatening to kill this guy like Muslims are with Wilder and cartoonists. Why is that?

Wait...

Al-Saeed does not believe religious books call for violence and bloodshed.

Yet he made a video that shows... nevermind, it must be me.

"it is hard to argue that it does matter, as long as Bush used the word "crusade" about his war, and kill people with cruise missiles."

Yeah, it's even harder to argue, when you have no instances where Bush actually said this word...but, then again, what do facts matter here?
