I'm grinning so hard it hurts.....
I'm told #7 Stop-Loss opened to only $1.6 million Friday from just 1,291 plays and should eke out $4+M. Although the drama from MTV Films was the best-reviewed (shocka! -ed.) movie opening this weekend, Paramount wasn't expecting much because no Iraq war-themed movie has yet to perform at the box office. "It's not looking good," a studio source told me before the weekend. "No one wants to see Iraq war movies. No matter what we put out there in terms of great cast or trailers, people were completely turned off. It's a function of the marketplace not being ready to address this conflict in a dramatic way because the war itself is something that's unresolved yet. It's a shame because it's a good movie that's just ahead of its time."

Because the buttheads who made it and starred in it are really trying to reprise the anti-war sentiment of the late 1960s. Well, if there's one *single* thing average people learned was, don't go insulting and persecuting our troops; they are our sons and daughters and fathers and brothers and sisters and mothers.
I'm a Grenada Vet. Call me a "Baby-Killer," and try to spit on me, and you will wake up from the Coma I will place you in, somewhere around 2017. Maybe.
Frankly, I think people *want* us to win in Iraq. They may dislike Bush, they may disagree why we got involved in Iraq, but they do understand we are trying to effect the best possible outcome there, and it's our own who are fighting to see it happen; it's not some intellectual game, as in the 60s. The average person is no longer into embracing defeatism for a mere slogan. Nor do they want to be seen as weak or actively contrary.

LAM,
"Frankly, I think people *want* us to win in Iraq. They may dislike Bush, they may disagree why we got involved in Iraq"
For the most part I agree, but then there's liberals, I have no doubts they want us to lose and lose badly. Saigon style withdrawal and everything. Just my opnion...

Yeah. There are heavily radical-liberals, to whom the "message" is just so important, common sense falls beside the wayside. You and I have met them before.
I have frequently said to people that they are the one's who "feel" (no sense behind it) that everyone in the world is just some "foreign" version of them, cushy in their 'burbs. That all we need is dialogue to solve all of our problems.
Well, I have news for them: the bulk of the world is a raw, nasty place, where people will kill you at the drop of a hat. The only one's who fail the test of reality are our own self-same libs.

By the way, I failed to add, how convenient it is to make a simple proclamation, and have it result in the deaths of millions. Such as our decisions in 1975 vis a vis Vietnam.
I truly wonder what skewed fantasy land those a-holes live in, that they can just write of millions, abrogate our responsibility, and then sleep at night...

Zip you have an opinion and you're entitled to it. What I find troubling is that the shadows the liberals cast on the United States is one of a storm of defeat for defeat's sake. All indications are that they do want us to loose. Their condemning our soldiers and praising Islam and the Muslim terrorist just lends proof positive towards you opinion.
All this puts your "opinion" out the window. Zip I think it's safe to say it is, a fact.
Lincoln would have hung the fuckers.
