Harvard Allowing Muslim Call to Prayer Stirs Controversy.....
The Saudis have been donating massive amounts of money to Harvard for years, mix that in with a heaping dose of academia and this is what you get. A complete f*cking mess....
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Two issues of Muslim practice — whether the call to prayer should ring out across Harvard Yard and whether the university should grant women separate gym hours — have unleashed small waves of controversy over how Harvard practices tolerance.
.....The second controversy occurred after the adhan, or call to prayer, was once again broadcast across Harvard Yard at noon from the steps of the Widener Library for several days late last month. The broadcast was part of Islam Awareness Week, sponsored by the Muslim student club, the Harvard Islamic Society.
On March 13, an op-ed article by three graduate students denounced the practice, which has been going on for several years. They wrote that while pluralism was fine, the adhan espouses Muslim intolerance toward other faiths by stating that the Prophet Muhammad is God’s messenger. Calling it proselytizing, the op-ed article said, “The adhan, it seems, is the exception to Harvard’s unspoken rule of religious tolerance and respect.”
As to the call to prayer, Muslim students said the adhan was a basic statement of their creed and had nothing to do with denying other faiths. The debate focused mostly on whether Muslims were getting a right denied to people of other religions.
One student wrote in the comments section of The Crimson’s Web site that Harvard Yard was not a comparative religion class, while another said if students could romp there naked and urinate on the statue of John Harvard, surely forbearance toward other cultures was warranted.
Taha Abdul-Basser, the Muslim chaplain at Harvard, said both episodes were indicative of the growing number of Muslims in the United States.
“There are some people who are not just comfortable that Muslims, by virtue of the change of demographics, are going to become more and more visible,” he said.

Basser is right-this is indicative of the growing Islamaniac presence. And yet nothing is done about this growing menace. And that's exactly what this is-a menace.

As a matter of reciprocity, if the muslims at Harvard are permitted to have their creed (adhan) recited, then may I suggest an important sect of Chritians get to have their creed recited, equally loud and just as often immediately following the muslim adhan:
The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

If I hear this from my location (perhaps a mile from Harvard Square, across the river), I swear to God I'll buy a 155MM "Long Tom" artillery piece and go to town.
Well, not really. I don't want to hurt the Townies, who are all right in my book.

I thought I'd point out something that's becoming quite noticeable: media is ALWAYS referring to old Mo as Prophet Muhammad. This is intentional; it's media's way of getting people used to the idea that he actually was one. I always complain when I see it and tell people why. If we don't speak up against this, it'll be a done deal.

Yeah...they want to be more and more visible: 9/11; 7/11 etc etc.

Muhammad was a prophet, but what people don't understand is that he was a false prophet. Jesus said that there would be many false prophets in the future, and He was right. Would a true prophet marry a little girl that was only six years old, and then take her under the covers at the age of nine? Muhammad did this when he married Aisha.

To add to Philip Saenz's comment - would a true prophet have raped female prisoners of war, plundered cities, massacred captives, ordered the assassination of those who criticised him, ignominiously broken peace treaties and practised deceit in order to gain military advantage? All these and more can be found in the most pious biographies of the "prophet", written by Muslims themselves. And what about Islam's practice of the "religious lie" or "taqqiya", used to gain advantage over "infidels" and "divinely" approved by Allah himself? Who is the Father of Lies?

And another thing: what on earth is a "Muslim chaplain"?! (According to the OED, "chaplain" derives from "capellanus" - a custodian of the cloak ("capellana") of St Martin.) Is this part of an insidious, mealy-mouthed attempt to substitute real chaplains in public and other institutions with imams?

Imagine church bells ringing on any campus in the ME. Would these students of Saudi descent agree to church bells at Riyad U? How about the more "moderate" Kuwaitis or Qataris...church bells in Salmiya or Doha? Isn't it amazing how the Muslims expect us to bend to their will and be tolerant and understanding, and yet in their own countries we can't even sneak a Bible in or find a church withing hundreds of miles? Let's stop this right now. They're bull dozing us and we're letting them.

Most Muslims are Muslims in name only. Most havent a clue whats in the Koran and rely on Imams to preach to them. Islam, itself, is the anti Christ. Mohammed is no prophet. Islam appeals to the Third World made up of largely unsophisticated, uneducated or barely educated people who have only lived under tyrannical governments. Islam says you cannot know God, only submit to his will which is contradictory and subject to His whim. Hopefully the West will wake up in time to see that the spread of Islam is leading to Armeggedon. I have no interest in converting to this ideology nor to pay a dhimmi tax or otherwise live in a society governed by Shariah. I will fight to the death if it comes to that.

Omvi:
My preference would be the Nicene Creed. It's longer and has more theological content.
Of course, the ultimate one would be the Athanasian Creed. It takes about 10 minutes to speak.

Go, Omvi, go Omvi, go Omvi, go!
(You, too, PHW.) Last year when municipal employees in Britain were ordered not to eat at their desks (and all vending machines were removed from their workplace) during the month of Ramadan lest sensitive Muslims be tempted, I anxiously waited till 2008 to hear of some heroic Catholic insisting that no meat be served (or eaten in plain view) on Fridays during Lent there. Guess that bit of logical, evenhanded treatment got quashed.
And I bet the meat they did serve was halal.
Wake up, Western world!

Why would any legitimate Christian support a matter that would promote another faith that denies their Lord and sovereign? It's is an act of treachery for a Christian to vote in favor for it. All Christians are called to serve the only King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
