Flag burning is OK by me-so long as the burner is wearing the flag at the time.

So this is how they support the troops in Berkeley. Right, just how Hitler supported the Jews.
The City Council's refusal to apologize to the Marines says it all.
The Berkeley Police ought to be ashamed of themselves for standing back and allowing the pro-military group to be attacked.

Anyone notice that they are protesting and officer selection office?

I dont care what you say you stand for. They say they support our troops but not the war/?Would you think rational people would burn their own country's flag what sense is that? These people should be ashamed of themselves. Federal funding needs to be taken away and these city council idiots need to be shunned by the local community for this.

The Berkeley City Council members should all be recalled. They should get down on their knees and thank God that we have Americans willing to put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms that they enjoy today. But don't worry folks, some U.S. Marine, or Soldier will gladly pay your share of the debt to defend this country. Take it from one who's been there, turning the other cheek just don't get it. Your enemy wants you and your kids dead, plain and simple wake up !!

What strikes me most is the dehumanizing comments the anti-military group make. By regarding to men and women as "predators" "weasels" and all the other horrible names they strip these men and women of their character without even knowing them. They strip them of their honor and integrity and right to choose the course of his or her own path. These very misguided people are confusing honorable service for succumbing to tyranny. We have lost our ideals here. Military is necessary to maintain any sort of defense of our country. That said the direction of anger and frustration over the continuing atrocities in Iraq is misdirected. I understand that anger. I can only hope that some day they will realize the wrongness and misdirection of their opinion.

I am old enough to remember the homecoming for the vietnam vets.
It was absolutely the most dishonorable thing the people of this nation have ever done.
These same types were the culprits then.
It's a shame that the lessons of the past were not learned and are being repeated yet again!
Semper Fi!!!!!

By the way, all those high school kids at the rally. I wonder what percentage of them could even find Iraq on a map, or how many have spent even 2 minutes watching the news ever.
