Muslim Group Trying to Stop Florida AG From Screening "Obsession" Movie....

Ironic how they call "Obsession" propaganda, why don't they take such a bold stance against jihadi propaganda?  They could start with Nasrallah's recent speech declaring Hezbollah had Israeli heads and body parts from dead soldiers....

(Los Angeles - 1/24/08) - The Muslim Public Affairs Council today sent a letter to Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who serves as a campaign adviser to Rudy Giuliani, calling on him to cease subjecting his employees to blatantly anti-Muslim propaganda. 

Last week, MPAC learned that McCollum sent an email to his employees requiring them to attend one of three screenings of a controversial video called “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West” in the State Senate Building. In the email, McCollum says the screening is intended to help employees “better understand the threat that we face as a nation and society.”

McCollum is a former member of Congress (1981-2001) who served on the Republican Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare for the US Congress.  The Task Force was first in issuing papers on the clash of civilization and promoting an anti-Muslim agenda in the US Congress.

“Obsession”, a 60-minute tirade of cherry picked inflammatory statements from foreign individuals interspersed with “analysis” from controversial American figures including self-proclaimed terrorism expert Steve Emerson, has been widely discredited since its release in 2006. 

By all accounts, Obsession is a piece of propaganda that cherry picks intolerant and offensive quotes from foreign individuals to paint all Muslims as part of a global jihad against the West. It is horrific in its demonization of a sizeable, respectable group of Americans.  “Obsession” contributes directly to fear, mistrust and suspicion of Islam and Muslims - i.e. Islamophobia - in American society. Its particular brand of Islamophobia incites hysteria, hate mongering, and the alienation of the Muslim American community.

All I need to do is study the Qur'a, the hadiths and study Islamic history and the life of Mohammed to fear, mistrust, and be suspicious of Islam. They would be better served if they can deny the Quotes are not true instead all saying they are inflamatory.

And, from what I've seen and read, Islam incites cold-blooded murder, decapitations, indiscriminate bombings, genital mutilation, amputations and the preaching of hate against the infidel pigs and apes.

Yeah, I'd say the AG is way out line with his "showing of a movie".

I've seen Obsession... It shows the hatred spewing from the Middle East , you see directly from the horses mouth what the folks in the middle east see and say.

What difference does it make that we're not seeing the lies they tell Westerners in English? If Muslims are upset with this film, let them show it by speaking out against the hate coming from the Middle East instead of white people in the West finally getting a chance to see it for themselves.

Its not just Quran quotes, bad enough though they are - it is the demonstrable murderous history of Islamic invasions, colonisations and extermination of whole groups and cultures - all in keeping with the Quran and the example of Mohammed.
Germany sincerely apologised for its depradations in the Nazi period. Muslims have never apologised for the wholesale butchery that Muslims did in their invasions. How can they, as they are an integral part of the cult of Islam.
