Seven year-old girl asks the Huckster, "who's your favorite author?" He answers, it's "Dr. Seuss," wait, what?.....
"Who is your favorite author?" Aleya Deatsch, 7, of West Des Moines asked Mr. Huckabee in one of those posing-like-a-shopping-mall-Santa moments.
Mr. Huckabee paused, then said his favorite author was Dr. Seuss.
In an interview afterward with the news media, Aleya said she was somewhat surprised. She thought the candidate would be reading at a higher level.
"My favorite author is C. S. Lewis," she said.

Who cares? The inexplicable anti-Huckabee sentiment in the elite wing of the Republican Party is an eye opener! The Christian right (and other fed up conservatives) are supporting Mike Huckabee, but the right’s pundits are not flocking to support him, and many of them are actually trying to derail him. I have two criteria for President. One who will fight this war as it should be fought and one who will secure our borders. He fails on both accounts. Why? Because he is a moralist. He is no different than George Bush. I wanted Tancredo but he dropped out. Will I vote for the Huckster if he gets the nomination? Sadly yes but I want someone who is tough and takes a moral stance on issues.

I wouldn't vote for this morph-monster for money. I understand *why* he said "Dr. Suess," but this is just the latest evidence of his pandering and "say anything" personality.
apacallyps, I don't know a single conservative, except my hyper-religious friends, who support the Huckmeister. And those who do support him are single-issue voters. It doesn't matter to them that Huckster is a lying, on-the-dole, simpleton who doesn't have a single domestic or foreign policy that has any viability attached to it. Revel in his temporary lead, but don't think that the asshat has a snowball's chance in Hell of being elected.

I'm a born-again Christian, and I won't vote for Huck in the primary. He's weak on immigration, he's a big spender, and I'm not sure I trust him to fight this war. ...If he gets the nomination, which he won't, I will vote for him over either head of the HillaBamaWards beast. I'd rather vote for a limp head of cabbage over any of those losers.
But, I gotta say, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" is a mighty good read.

The inexplicable anti-Huckabee sentiment in the elite wing of the Republican Party is unbelievable!! What is perhaps most baffling about these pundits taking potshots at Gov. Huckabee is that he has everything for which the anti-illegal immigration proponents have been calling and yet they still attack Huckabee for adopting the plan. Nothing Huckabee does can assuage these neocons who have no use for (us) genuine conservative's who believes in social conservatism and populist policy.

It's not elite republicans who question Huckabee, it's conservatives. The guy wants to invite illegal immigrants to America with promises of college scholarships if they do well in a college system that has to few spots already. He wants to let criminals go because his faith tells him to forgive. These are not "elitist personal attacks" they are his record. Who is being had?

You are completely mischaracterizing Huck's position on illegal immigration. He will build a FENCE. He is AGAINST illegal immigration!
That said, he wants to FIX the problem. Outsource the immigration process to one of the credit card companies if need be, so people don't have to wait 7-8 years to come in and tar a roof or pick some apples. But, make no mistake, Huckabee is absolutely against amnesty!!
Oh, comparing him to Jimma Carter is a joke. Carter is an anti-semite and a traitor! Give it up.
Huck also wants the nation to be energy independent within 10 years. Like Kennedy setting a goal to land on the moon in the 60's in less than 10 years.
The problem is that people like YOU, with your attacks are ruining the GOP mainstream chance of getting a President who will deal their needs and not only Wall Streets and the Insiders!!
Haven't you noticed it's mostly the Republican elites that are attacking Huck? Rush, Malkin, Drudge, Coulter and their little minions are fighting more viciously and unfairly than before. I think they're confronted with the prospect of having a REAL Christian President in Mike Huckabee and that scares them. They are fighting for their political lives because if he wins they're in danger of being rejected. And I don't say this lightly as I have always liked Rush, Malkin, Drudge, and Coulter, but these elites have gone mad on this one. You like the status quo? Do you? WAKE UP!
