Emory University Speaker Defends Hamas and Hezbollah....

Academia fucking sucks, Emory being near the top of the list....

Veteran Palestinian Authority lawmaker Hanan Ashrawi, who represents PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayad's Third-Wave party, defended both Hamas and Hizbullah in a speech at Emory University in Atlanta on Monday night.

"The [Second Lebanon] War proved [Israel] could not defeat a nation fighting for freedom," Ashrawi said. Later, the Christian lawmaker blamed Hamas's January 2006 election victory on Israel, saying the occupation bred extremism.

Ashrawi also discussed the plight of the Palestinian people, saying they had plunged into a deep depression with unemployment and poverty at record levels, and that peace was the only answer.

Ashrawi's lecture was part of a series of speeches on the Emory campus focusing on peace-building in wartorn regions. One of the more controversial talks was by former US president Jimmy Carter, who spoke about his much-criticized book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid. The book was condemned by many for comparing Israeli actions to the oppression of blacks under South Africa's apartheid regime.

Dennis Kucinich Questions Bush's Mental Health. Try to Stop Laughing...

Coming from the same man who claims to have seen a UFO...

PHILADELPHIA - Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich questioned President Bush's mental health in light of comments he made about a nuclear Iran precipitating World WarIII.

"I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health," Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board on Tuesday. "There's something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact."

Australian Cardinal Gives the Big F.U. to Muslims...

I'm officially inviting Cardinal Pell to post here at Weasel Zippers.  He would be among friends here....

A MAJOR Islamic group has hit out at Australia's most senior Catholic clergyman, Cardinal George Pell, over his comments on Muslims' failure to assimilate, saying they were politically divisive during an election campaign.

But Australian Federation of Islamic Councils president Ikebal Adam Patel did not seem to realise the comments attributed to Dr Pell were made eight months ago. (HA! stupid fucks -ed.)

"It is obvious that this could be made an election issue in the name of our migration policy," Mr Patel said.

In a speech in March, Dr Pell said Muslim integration was important for better relations, but non-Muslims in Islamic countries were often not given the same rights as Muslims.

"In fact, Christians are being harassed and even persecuted in many countries ranging from Nigeria through Sudan, where some are being sold as slaves, and the Middle East to Pakistan and Indonesia," he said. "I would like to know where our friends stand on these matters."

"It's not appropriate that Muslims regularly reply to criticism with insults, denigration and evasions while avoiding the point of issue, and unfortunately we've seen too much of this from some Muslim public personalities," Dr Pell said.

Civil War! Nader Sues the Democratic Party...

I love Nader for one reason, libtards hate his guts.....

WASHINGTON (AP) - Consumer advocate and 2004 independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader sued the Democratic Party on Tuesday, contending officials conspired to keep him from taking votes away from nominee John Kerry.

Nader's lawsuit, filed in District of Columbia Superior Court, also named as co-defendants Kerry's campaign, the Service Employees International Union and several so-called 527 organizations such as America Coming Together, which were created to promote voter turnout on behalf of the Democratic ticket.

The lawsuit also alleges that the Democratic National Committee conspired to force Nader off the ballot in several states.

"The Democratic Party is going after anyone who presents a credible challenge to their monopoly over their perceived voters," Nader said in a statement. "This lawsuit was filed to help advance a free and open electoral process for all candidates and voters. Candidate rights and voter rights nourish each other for more voices, choices, and a more open and competitive democracy.''

Feds Have Nothing Better to Do?....

Than to fine a missionary who's sole purpose in life is to provide shelter for orphans in Sudan?  From the always great Audrey Hudson, via the Washington Times....

The Rev. Sam Childers says he might need a lawyer.

The Pennsylvania missionary operates an orphanage for victims of the war in Sudan's Darfur region and he's in a fight with federal aviation officials over a $28,000 fine for some supplies he tried to send to his children in Africa.

For more than a decade, he has transported needed supplies to operate its power-generator in a clearly marked Rubbermaid container. That is until April, when three quarts of motor oil, two bottles of diesel treatment and a can of WD-40 spray lubricant in the crate were confiscated by airline screeners.

Mr. Childers, president of World Missions Shekinah Fellowship, apologized in a later letter to U.S. government officials, saying he was not aware the supplies were classified as "hazardous materials" and illegal to ship by commercial plane.

The minister thought the matter was resolved. But now, six months later, Mr. Childers has been notified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) he will be fined $28,000 for the transgression.

"We don't have that kind of money to start with, I just don't know what to do," said Mr. Childers, who operates the shelter for 200 children whose parents have been killed in the bloody civil war in Sudan.

US Rescues Man From al-Qaeda Prison; UN to Investigate AQ for War Crimes....

Joking (obviously), they wouldn't investigate their allies....

BAQUBAH, Iraq A 19 year-old man was rescued from an al Qaeda-in-Iraq prison in the village of al Hammadi, 10 miles southwest of Baqubah, by 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, during an air assault Oct. 28.

The rescued hostage was found tied to a ceiling with his arms raised behind his back, which caused injuries to both arms.  The man was treated at Forward Operating Base Warhorse for dehydration, joint injuries, bruises and abrasions.

The man was kidnapped on Oct. 25 in Baqubah “at a shop by five men in a car, because of my brother who is in the Iraqi Army,” he said, “they wanted information and for my brother and me to work for al Qaeda.”

Nonetheless, the young man did not give al Qaeda in Iraq the information or his allegiance.  He said he was slated to stand trial held by an al Qaeda leader for refusing to help al Qaeda, for which the punishment is death.

“They beat me with cables while holding a gun to my head, but I would not work for them because I would not betray my brother,” he stated, “these are very bad guys, they do bad things, I would never support them.”

UK Attempts to Regulate Mosques. Good, Right?...

Not when your putting a group of Muslim clerics in charge.  Try again....

In the first government-sponsored attempt to put in place a system of regulating Britain's over 1,300 mosques to prevent radicalisation, a new body of four major Muslim groups formed after the July 7 London bombings has drafted proposals on core standards and constitutions for the mosques.

The new proposals have been drawn up by the Mosques and Imams National Advisory Body (MINAB), set up by the Al-Khoei Foundation, the British Muslim Forum, the Muslim Association of Britain and the Muslim Council of Britain. MINAB was formed after the July 7, 2005 bombings.

The draft constitution for the regulatory body proposes increasing the skills and competencies of imams, developing mosques as centres of community cohesion, citizenship and dialogue and strengthening accountability and governance.

It also proposes improving access of women and young people to mosques. The new body, according to its constitution, would also provide advice on the suitability of imams and scholars coming from abroad.

Urging mosques to cooperate, Hazel Blears, communities secretary, said: 'Strong mosques positioned at the centre of the community and effectively governed will be better able to withstand attempts to hijack them by certain groups supporting violent extremist interpretations of Islam. The changes are important because they are coming from within the community itself.' (actually, that's the problem -ed.)

Shark Found in Iraqi River. Guess Who's Fault it is?...

No, not the Jooos, but close.  Muslim paranoia runs deep my friends....

NASSIRIYA, Iraq (Reuters) - A two-meter shark has been caught in a river in southern Iraq more than 200 km (160 miles) from the sea.

Karim Hasan Thamir said he was fishing with his sons last week when they spotted a large fish thrashing about in his net. "I recognized the fish as a shark because I have seen one on a television program," he told Reuters.

Tahseen Ali, a teacher, said there was a "75 percent chance" Americans had put the shark in the water.

"This is very frightening for us. Our children always swim in the river and I believe that there are more sharks. I believe that America is behind this matter," said fisherman Hatim Karim

US Death Toll in Iraq Lowest in 18 Months...

Ussoldier

Daily good news from Iraq.  Feels nice to be winning this war doesn't it?....

BAGHDAD - The monthly toll of U.S. service members who have died in Iraq is on track to being the lowest in nearly two years, with at least 37 troop deaths recorded as of Tuesday, but the military cautioned it's too early to declare a long-term trend.

At least 37 American service members have died so far in October, nearly a quarter from non-combat causes. Among them were three soldiers killed Tuesday when a bomb exploded as they patrolled southeast Baghdad, the military said.

It is the lowest number since 32 troops died in March 2006 and the second-lowest since 20 troop deaths in February 2004, according to an Associated Press count based on military figures.

That would be the second consecutive drop in monthly figures, after 65 Americans died in September and 84 in August.

Hamas Shows Off Body Parts of IDF Soldiers at Press Conference...

The IDF disputes this and I tend to believe them over Hamas goons.  Either way, their blood-thirsty culture eats this shit up....

According to the Bethlehem-based Maan news agency, Hamas terrorists held a press conference on Monday night claiming a victory over IDF soldiers in gunfights earlier in the day.  Hamas leaders said terrorists had taught the soldiers “an unforgettable lesson.”

The terrorists displayed body parts during the press conference, claiming that the body parts belonged to Israeli soldiers who were wounded during the day.  No IDF soldiers lost body parts in Gaza on Monday, and it is not clear who the body parts actually belonged to.

The press conference was held next to the Gaza home of Ahmed Abu Tahoun, one of the Hamas terrorists who was killed in Monday’s fighting.  At least one other terrorist was killed, as was one IDF reservist.

Atheists Suing to Prevent Moment of Silence in Schools...

These people won't stop until every shred of religion has been removed from society...

A 14-year-old suburban girl and her dad, atheist activist Rob Sherman, filed a lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court that challenges the constitutionality of a law requiring Illinois public schools to observe a moment of silence.

Sherman and his daughter Dawn, a freshman at Buffalo Grove High School, contend that the law providing for "silent prayer or for silent reflection on the anticipated activities of the day" runs afoul of the constitutional separation of church and state.

Poll Shows Majority Approve Attacking Iran...

B_52_2

Sooner the better, time isn't on our side.....

A majority of likely voters – 52% – would support a U.S. military strike to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon, and 53% believe it is likely that the U.S. will be involved in a military strike against Iran before the next presidential election, a new Zogby America telephone poll shows.

Democrats (63%) are most likely to believe a U.S. military strike against Iran could take place in the relatively near future, but independents (51%) and Republicans (44%) are less likely to agree. Republicans, however, are much more likely to be supportive of a strike (71%), than Democrats (41%) or independents (44%). Younger likely voters are more likely than those who are older to say a strike is likely to happen before the election and women (58%) are more likely than men (48%) to say the same – but there is little difference in support for a U.S. strike against Iran among these groups.

Report: Bush Related to Vlad the Impaler AKA Dracula. Wait, What?...

Tepes

Bush Derangement Syndrome porn...

Following the revelation that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), Vice President Dick Cheney and President George W. Bush are distant relations, the New York Post decided to report on some of Bush's other relatives.

Most of Bush's ancestors came to America in colonial times, and through them he -- like tens of thousands of other Americans -- is related to a large number of earlier presidents, as well as to both Dick Cheney and John Kerry.

Bush also turns out to be related to Vlad the Impaler -- the medieval tyrant who was one of the inspirations for the fictional Count Dracula. Some critics might say that Bush has certain things in common with Vlad, who is still honored by many Romanians for having saved their country from invasion by the Muslim Ottoman Turks. Vlad was a paranoid and bloodthirsty despot, however, who ruled through torture and murder.

UN Plans to Investigate US Soldiers in Iraq; Sees "No Point" in Investigating Jihadis....

As usual, the UN is being pimped out by the terrorists like a $5 crack whore....

NEW YORK — The U.N. specialist on illegal executions plans to probe the use of deadly force by U.S. troops and military contractors in Iraq when he visits the United States next spring.

Will they investigate the jihadists who chop off heads or blow children to smithereens?  You guessed it, no.....

Asked whether he also planned to visit Iraq to look into ethnic cleansing and militia killings there, human rights rapporteur Philip Alston said he saw no point because his movements would be too severely restricted by security concerns.

Poll: Less Than Half of Pakistanis Support Army Action Against al-Qaeda and Taliban....

20061218terror

Islamic revolution watch remains in effect.....

WorldPublicOpinion.org poll finds that just 44 percent of urban Pakistanis favor sending the Pakistani army to the Northwestern tribal areas to pursue and capture al Qaeda fighters.  Only 48 percent would allow the Pakistan army to act against Taliban insurgents who have crossed over from Afghanistan.  In both cases, about a third oppose such military action and a fifth decline to answer.

Pakistanis reject overwhelmingly the idea of permitting foreign troops to attack al Qaeda on Pakistani territory. Four out of five (80%) say their government should not allow American or other foreign troops to enter Pakistan to pursue and capture al Qaeda fighters.  Three out of four (77%) oppose allowing foreign troops to attack Taliban insurgents based in Pakistan.

Polling took place before the massive suicide bombing apparently targeting former Prime Minster Benazir Bhutto on her return from eight-years in exile. More than 130 people among the massive crowds celebrating Bhutto's return died in the attack.

Citizens Standing up to ACLU Anti-Christian Bigotry...

Finally, someone is standing up to the godless communist douchebags of the ACLU...

When Berkley, Mich., residents to go the polls next week it's thought to be the first time that voters will have decided the fate of a Nativity display in a municipal setting, according to campaign organizers. And at least three former mayors are endorsing the restoration of the display that was pulled down last year after the ACLU threatened a lawsuit.

In announcing the 2007 Nativity Project, which encourages the display nationwide of the scene from the biblical Christmas story, Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition said religious freedoms have eroded in the United States.

"This is especially true during the Christmas season where there is an open hostility toward public expressions of faith. We must constantly remind our public officials that the Constitution promises freedom 'of' religion not freedom 'from' religion," he said.

The experts at the Thomas More Law Center have been advising the Berkley campaign, which was launched after the city council last winter gave in to threats from the ACLU, and ordered the Nativity removed.

Residents, however, were upset enough to assemble behind resident Georgia Halloran as the "Berkley Citizens Vote YES to Christmas Holiday Display" organization. They mounted a successful petition drive to bring the issue to the ballot.

Study Finds 25% of British Mosques Distributing Wahabbi Hate Literature....

Saudi Arabia needs to be wiped off the face of the Earth...

Extremist literature calling for the execution of gays and the oppression of women is being distributed in British mosques.

Researchers found radical or hate-filled books and pamphlets at a quarter of the 100 Islamic religious institutions they visited.

They said much of the literature is linked to agencies of the Saudi Arabian government.

The revelations come at the start of a state visit to the UK by Saudi King Abdullah, who immediately triggered controversy by accusing Britain of not doing enough to tackle terrorism. The claims were hotly denied by the Government.

The material found in the mosques urges Muslims to lead separate lives from 'nonbelievers' and makes repeated calls for gays to be killed.

Women should be subjugated and are warned not to pluck their eyebrows or wear perfume.

In the alarming report, drawn up by the Policy Exchange thinktank, the Saudis were accused of having a 'powerful and malign' influence.

The contentious pamphlets are either written by the country's Wahhabite religious establishment, published by official or semi-official institutions or found in Saudi-funded or linked mosques.

Hardline material was found at the East London Mosque which has been visited by Prince Charles and is closely linked to the Muslim Council of Britain.

Poll: 43% Say US Winning WoT, 30% Say Terrorists are Winning....

More bad news for the Dems.....

The latest Rasmussen Reports tracking poll finds that 43% of Americans now say the U.S. and its allies are winning the War on Terror . That's up from 39% a month ago and is the highest level of optimism registered in nearly a year.

The national telephone survey found that 30% now believe the terrorists are winning. That's up two points from a month ago but down two from the month before.

A separate survey found that 45% of voters trust Republicans more than Democrats on national security issues while 41% have the opposite view. That's the only issue where the GOP currently has an advantage.

Hamas Launches its Most Terrifying Weapon Ever: A Boy Band....

Boyband_2

The girls are going to go wild over Mohammed, Mohammed, Ahmed, Ahmed and Mohammed...

Hamas militants have launched a new weapon in their struggle with Israel: a troupe of honey-voiced singers known as Protectors of the Homeland.

Wearing crisply pressed fatigues in urban camouflage blue, the six band members gather each day to practise in an old office within the Gaza City police headquarters.

To the accompaniment of a backing track from a laptop computer, the men then started polishing their routine of songs, almost all of which have strong Islamic and militaristic content and titles like Change and Reform. Such uplifting lyrics as "By the shrouds of the dead we are inspired" are typical.

"It is our job to inspire the foot soldiers," said Maj Hosam Abu Abdu, a 40-year-old former police officer who now fronts the band. "We want to urge the soldiers and officers to push on, to make the effort needed in the struggle to end the occupation [of Palestinian land by Israel]."

Being an Islamic group, the plans do not involve women and the band leader looked slightly shocked when asked if any of the activities might be unisex. "Not possible," he said.
