Ron Paul Supporters Are Truly Lunatics...

What kind of loser would take the time to manipulate Digg in favor of Ron paul?  These people need to get a life....

From JWF:

There are rumors of Ron Paul supporters manipulating Digg. I’ve got the names and the evidence.

A funny thing happened last month. I wrote a blog post about the history of Digg.com as part of my study of the social bookmarking site. Normally when posting, my entries receive little to no response on Digg, which is fine since it’s hardly viral stuff. When I posted the “history” blog, however, I received a whopping 17 diggs, a number I had never reached with this blog before.

Realizing that something must be up, I did a little investigating. To my surprise, the majority of people that dugg my post were supporters of Republican Congressman from Texas Ron Paul, a Libertarian and presidential candidate.

When I say “Ron Paul supporters,” I mean that these people ONLY digg stories about Ron Paul, and many of them don’t read the actual content of submissions. My “history” post had Ron Paul’s name in the title (Digg Dirt: From the Digg Army to Ron Paul) but had only the minutest mention of him in the article – I referenced how a push from Digg may have resulted in him getting on the Daily show. The piece itself had NOTHING to do with Ron Paul!

Pathetic...

I'm not sure how promoting a candidate for which you strongly support indicates lunacy. It seems to me you have an extensive blog that promotes your ideas.

Perhaps you could expand on your point.

My point is simple, he polls in the 3-4% range nationally, yet, miracously his internet pressence is would you say, rather large...

Right. But that doesn't make them lunatics.

A bit obsessed or politically motivated perhaps, but I'm not sure it's to the level of lunacy.

If they're improving or broadening the political dialogue by bringing attention to more voices, I'm not sure that I would describe that as pathetic.

I believe we are at a time when more, not fewer, voices need to be heard.

That all depends on what you are looking at, there is people doing that for every candidate not just Ron Paul. Also if you look at the public opinion polls most don't include Ron Paul, you can't trust anything you read or see anymore. Everybody has their own damn agenda, the best way to find the truth anymore is to read what they all have to say and then see if their actions back it up. After all it would be a very premature guess to assume Ron Paul has a huge following just because he makes it big on Digg. Most people know how spam works, it's only a matter of time until bots are using fake email address's to successfully Digg articles. It's just that now it's only people with no life are doing it instead of machines. Of course the media has it's own propaganda, if some pimply faced moron on summer break has an agenda to push on Digg then I'm sure the people at the top of the news pyramid do too. It's just humans out their proving that you can't trust their damn species...

oh brother, another meathead learned how to blog... go to Iraq you monkey.

The 3-4% you quote is meaningless. Those polls are meaningless at this point. For one half of them include people that aren't even running. It is also totally based on name recognition. Most people don't know much about anyone that's running this early. Also those polls do not include independent voter, just registered Republicans. I for example live in NH and 44% of registered voters are registered as independents. Those people will be voting in the primaries though. They can decide what party to vote for at the polls. Those votes can change the whole race.

annoy the bury brigade until they leave or die of broken hearts! go ron go!

Baseless article with no facts. Know this, Ron Paul speaks about real issues. If you honestly think that the other idiots with their lobbyist and corporate money pockets give a shit about you more than a man who never increased taxes, the state you see reality in, is a sad one.

Good luck, with people like you, america needs it.

This stuff gives me a hearty chuckle. Before you pass judgment...just go to youtube and watch some of Ron Paul's videos. If you're not convinced or don't agree...then fine.

We are not all lunatics or fanatics. Many of us are professionals, mothers, fathers, or students. We actually read the articles and yes I do digg the ones I'm interested in.

Cheers and Good Luck on your blog...but keep an open mind :P
