Hope For Iran?...

Gr_iranians1

Out of all the countries in the Middle East (minus Israel and Lebanon) Iranian citizens are the most pro-US.  But don't hold your breath over a regime change, the Mullahs are firmly entrenched and aren't going anywhere soon...

An overwhelming majority of Iranians, 70 percent, favor normal relations and trade with the United States, a nationwide poll conducted by Terror Free Tomorrow has found.

In return for normal relations with the US, most Iranians were willing to recognize Israel and Palestine as independent states, ending Iranian supports for armed groups in Iraq, and adopt a transparent nuclear policy, Terror Free Tomorrow President Ken Ballen wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

The poll also found that only 29 percent of respondents viewed developing nuclear weapons as a top national priority. By contrast, 88 percent said that improving the Iranian economy was a very important priority.

About 80 percent of those polled said they would allow full inspection of Iran's nuclear activities and vow not to develop nuclear arms in return for foreign aid.

One of my best friends is Persian. They love America and Americans.. their leadership is just really assholish(sounds familiar, huh?)

Clearly the US need to bomb these primitive people into the stone age.

why is it that the people who run a country are almost always more unreasonable, fanatical and uneducated than the majority of people who actualy live in the country.

(im not just talking about iran here)

Polls are notorious for being tools designed to manipulate public opinion, where the questions and answers(and demographics)are such that a pre-determined outcome is assured.
This one seems to indicate that a "regime-change" in Iran by the USA would be welcomed by a large number of Iranians.
Of course the poll did not ask them that question.

My best girl friend is Iranian, Sudi, and she came here when she was little during the revolution. She's nothing like them and very modern and is also a certified AKC breeder, breeding Japanese Akita's.

Her parents were seized by the new government and were thrown in jail and now after all of these years, in prison where Sudi's father eventually died, and just recently her mom did.

My other best friend, Liz, her husband "Mike" is an Iranian and a wonderful man. You would never knew he was pursian.

Both friends mentioned here are non-religous and they are US citizens.. o:)
